They say that only with age does wisdom come. Could this group have figured it all out early in life?Did they have the answers and if so, why haven’t things change yet? The 1960’s had some spectacular stellar events. Look at the 1962 Aquarius line up all in opposition to Uranus in Leo. Or skip to the Virgo to Libra movement of outer planets in late 1968 and early 1969. Didn’t these major planetary occurrences coincide with the restless feeling that change was needed? If so why hasn’t change occurred?

These skyward movements depicted a desperate last ditch effort to be free, to love without remorse, to hallucinate into deep truth, to celebrate the individuality that can only come with connection to like minds.

All I think about is how alone I am. But, the physicality of it is I live with two other people. I have regular lunch and dinner companions. I have friends that I talk to daily and weekly. So it’s difficult to keep up all these relationships and maintain my sense of being alone, therefore I try to shut them out. Austerity totally annoys me, but I realize the virtue and common sense involved in being penurious. Venus in Virgo is not know for it lavish spending, but with the trine to Mars in Taurus, quality items with a feel of luxury make good sense to the earthy Virgo Venus. Someone once told me they would rather pretend that they are wealthy, than face reality and live like a pauper. Sound advice most of the time, but during the visits of Saturn reality crashes in and disturbs everything. Today I will pretend I’m rich! Tomorrow is soon enough to face the strict discipline Saturn will Impose.

Saturn has been here awhile, I just decided to document my thoughts and feelings. I have a Mars/Venus trine and the Saturn trine Mars that was exact at 8 degrees seemed mildly productive. Lasting projects were accomplished. This Venus thingie has me puzzled. I really need to be alone with my thoughts. I can clean up stuff, but creativity is down the drain. The info I read from Robert Pelletier’s “Planets in Transits” helped (as it always does). I distinctly remember a lecture of his that I attended. He had a theory regarding really important transits. When I apply the theory, I come up with what I call a Pelletier day. This particular transit of Saturn won’t trigger that set of circumstances he referenced in his lecture, so no Pelletier day in store for me. Just the same I probably won’t forget this time period.

This is a frequent question people ask. Astrology is something I want to know about – to be aware of. It is a language for greater human understanding, much like psychology. But as to whether I believe in it, BELIEVE should be reserved for religions. I believe in God. I am merely curious about the “coincidence” that is astrology. I use astrology’s tools to understand people and situations. When I look at the birth chart for a person, I see what will be emphasized during this incarnation and the challenges they will encounter.

The astrological birth chart, commonly referred to as the Horoscope, is a picture of the heavens at the moment in time that you were born. This picture relies on the location where you were born and this picture changes roughly every four minutes. That makes it a distinctive map of influences on any person born exactly at that time and place.

Interpretation is very much in the eye of the beholder. Each astrologer looks at the same map and sees tendencies that resonate to them personally. The more an astrologer probes into the map the clearer the unique characteristics become. But due to the one of a kind influence a map or chart has, the exact relationships shown can usually only be applied this one time for this one set of circumstances. Herein lays the beauty in the art of interpretation.

Usually, the astrologer encounters clients with relationship and employment questions. Since the study of astrology emphasizes “free will” the astrologer can advise the best course to follow; however, the clients chart may exhibit a tendency to be impulsive, or a reticent quality, either of which can foil the best of advice.

The health of the client is sometimes the purpose for the consultation. Again, tendencies in the birth map may indicate a proclivity for diabetes, arthritis or other debilitative disease. The areas of weakness and strength can be thoroughly explored. Again, the outcome is largely dependent upon what the client does with the information an astrologer will provide.

In any event, a consultation with a professional astrologer can be a life changing event. The tools we use to uncover the promise of the birth chart are undeniably beneficial to the clients clearing a path to life’s most challenging issues.

Day one of my Saturn conjunct Venus diary. I need my space. This is an overwhelmingly cold transit. I am feeling as though I’m in a bath of ice water. All my emotions have emptied themselves from my heart. I will probably be sitting here all alone - having stripped myself of all my human contacts. The old adage “You get what you deserve” when having a Saturn transit must mean I won’t have anything. But it’s okay. I can handle it now. I need time to reflect and re-energize. I glad it’s not winter!
